Importance of Laxmi Puja
Diwali season is so special for the many wonderful things it brings in the lives of people. Lakshmi pooja is the most important aspect of Diwali that no household can afford to miss if you want to get the most out of Diwali celebrations.
Diwali festival is meant to celebrate the victory of good over evil. It is the time when we refresh our minds and hearts and develop new hopes. Indian tradition believes that Goddess Mahalakshmi visits every household during Diwali carrying pots of luck, wealth and a host of other blessings. Performing Diwali puja on Diwali can help win the blessings of Goddess Mahalakshmi and invite prosperity, wealth, health and abundance into the household. Devotes observe a fast and break only after the puja is completed in the evening.
On the eve of Lakshmi puja, people decorate their homes and offices with flowers and mango and banana leaves. A lot of people place mangalik kalash on both ends of the entrance door. They cover it with coconuts and place tiny idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha.
