Mythology of Dhana Lakshmi was, once Lord Vishnu and Devi Lakshmi had an argument about the value of money where Lord Vishnu totally disagreed with that. After Devi left Vaikunta and went to the earth. Later on, Lord Vishnu also followed her to the earth as he was unable to reconcile life without her. He was based on earth as a poor forest dweller. Then one day they meet, but Vishnu was unable to marry Dhana Lakshmi because of lack of money. Unfortunately, he took a loan from Kubera who insisted that Lord Vishnu have to repay the loan before leaving. But years passed he couldn’t repay the loan and finally, he realized the value of money in life. His wife Dhana Lakshmi blessed him with money and he became indebted to her.

Dhana Lakshmi is depicted with six arms with red saree, carries chakra, Shankha, kalasha, Bow arrow, Lotus and one arm in Abhaya mudra where gold coins flowing from her palm.
