Devi Shailaputri
Shailaputri is the first form of the nine forms of Durga. Therefore, she is worshipped on the first day of the Navratri festival. She is also called Sati, Bhavani, Parvati or Hemavati in different places. Goddess Shailaputri is acknowledged as the absolute form of Mother Nature. In some cultures, she is also known as Goddess Parvati, who is the wife of Lord Shiva. The Goddess is commonly depicted as having a half moon on her forehead, a trident in her right hand and a lotus in her left hand. The puja for Devi Shailaputri starts with Ghatasthapana, a ritual that symbolizes women's power.
