10th Avatar of Lord Vishnu | Kalki Avatar
Kalki Avatar will be the 10th and last avatar of Lord Vishnu. He will arrive on the 12th day of bright fortnight which is also known as Shukla Paksha. The name Kalki is derived from Kal which means “Time”. According to Puranas Lord Kalki will be depicted with four arms, holding a conch, a mace, a discus, and a lotus. It is also predicted that a man named Visnu Yasa and his wife Sumati will give birth to Kalki.
Purpose of Kalki Avatar:
In Puranas it’s described that Kalki avatar rejuventes existence by ending the darkest and destructive period to remove dharma in the Satya Yuga. In Kalki Purana, Vishnu avatar Kalki marries Princess Padmavati, the daughter of Brhadratha of Simhala. Also it’s mentioned that he will fight against all the evils and many wars. Then he will return to Sambhala, inaugurate a new Yuga for the good and then go to heaven.
